9 December 2009 - MAX Employment Provides a Very Merry Christmas for the Long Term Unemployed
An additional 14,000 Australians and their families will be celebrating a very merry Christmas thanks to MAX Employment and their work under the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations Job Services Australia contract.
MAX Employment Managing Director Michal Hobday said “In spite of the tough economic times we’ve seen this year, we are achieving real success in assisting the long term unemployed back into work.”
“We are very proud of our achievement in placing over 14,000 Australians who are now successfully employed because of MAX Employment’s integrated model which mixes job search, training and health interventions provided by skilled staff.”
“Our approach centres on businesses needs. We match people with the right skills and experience to employer’s requirements, ensuring that our clients not only find jobs but stay in those jobs long term. This is important to the job seeker as well as the employer” he said.
The Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations Job Services contract, of which MAXEmployment is one of the leading providers, was signed in July of this year and runs for three years.
Under this contract MAX Employment works with short and long term unemployed people to provide the training and assistance they need to re-enter the workforce. Assistance provided includes help with resume preparation, interview techniques and staying in the job. In some cases, specific help with drug and alcohol issues, depression and self esteem is provided .
“In tough economic times we are very pleased to have been so successful in changing the lives of so many long term unemployed people as we head towards Christmas. We will continue to work with people who need our services to ensure 2010 is even more successful than this year” Mr Hobday said.

Case Study
Michael was a 38 year old job seeker who was recently let go by his boss to put on a trainee. Because he couldn’t contribute to the rent he was asked to move out from his niece’s house. With no where to go Mick was forced to live out of his car that he could not drive as the keys had been lost.
Our Employment Consultant arranged an interview for Mick with an employer looking for an experienced dozer driver. By understanding Mick’s qualities and through working closely with the potential employer we secured Mick an interview with the site supervisor. He started in the job straight away.
Mick recently bought the team that supported him flowers and wrote this lovely letter.
